The inadvertent expatriate blogger behind ScribePilotCatalog

Hello, I am Oliver
I work as a project manager. I am a parent. I am an expatriate based in London, United Kingdom.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't in the plans for the long term. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The early weeks were challenging — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Routine tasks felt more intricate than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built ScribePilotCatalog
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a sincere, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from daily life in United Kingdom.
What This Site Covers (And What It Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism-board resource
- Not a platform for sponsored reviews
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United Kingdom continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Oliver
